AndroGel 1.62% (testosterone gel) is a form of the male sex hormone testosterone used for hormone replacement in men who are not able to produce enough testosterone (e.g., hypogonadism).

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • difficulty breathing,
  • itching,
  • dark urine,
  • rash,
  • stomach pain,
  • weakness,
  • agitation,
  • mood changes,
  • hostility,
  • depression,
  • severe dizziness
  • yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice),
  • swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, and
  • trouble urinating,
  • slow or shallow breathing,
  • changes in the amount of urine,
  • breast pain or enlargement,
  • swelling of the feet or ankles,
  • weight fain,
  • changes in size or shape of the testicles,
  • testicle pain or tenderness,
  • calf tenderness, swelling, or pain,
  • penis erection that is painful or lasting 4 or more hours,
