NexoBrid (anacaulase-bcdb topical gel)

NexoBrid (anacaulase-bcdb) is a topically applied biologic that contains proteolytic enzymes designed for nonsurgical eschar (dead tissue) removal in adults with deep partial-thickness and/or full-thickness thermal burns.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • rash,
  • diarrhea,
  • fever,
  • shortness of breath,
  • confusion,
  • chills,
  • dizziness,
  • low blood pressure,
  • fatigue,
  • sore throat,
  • little or no urination,
  • flushing,
  • vomiting, and
  • abdominal pain,
  • difficulty breathing, and
  • sleepiness,
  • urinary tract infection,
  • bruising,
  • fast or irregular heart rate,
  • skin discoloration,
  • anemia,
  • wound complication,
  • bacteremia,
  • scarring,
  • low body temperature,
  • abnormal blood values (Leukocytosis, Hepatic function),
  • pressure ulcer,
  • difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
