Aminosyn with electrolytes (crystalline amino acid solution with electrolytes) is a combination of amino acids and electrolytes used as a source of nitrogen in the nutritional support of patients with adequate stores of body fat, in whom, for short periods of time, oral nutrition cannot be tolerated, is undesirable, or inadequate.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea
• flushing
• fever, and
• injection site reactions (warm sensation, skin redness, inflammation, swelling, and blood clots)
