Gleolan [aminolevulinic acid hydrochloride (ALA HCl)] is an optical imaging agent indicated in patients with glioma (suspected World Health Organization Grades III or IV on preoperative imaging) as an adjunct for the visualization of malignant tissue during surgery.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- low blood pressure (hypotension),
- vomiting,
- fever,
- chills,
- diarrhea.
- photosensitivity reaction,
- skin rash from sun exposure,
- abnormal liver function test, and
