Osmolex ER (amantadine)

Osmolex ER (amantadine extended-release tablets) is indicated for the treatment of drug-induced extrapyramidal reactions in adult patients with Parkinson's disease.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • lightheadedness,
  • shortness of breath,
  • confusion,
  • seizure,
  • sweating,
  • agitation,
  • painful or difficult urination,
  • swelling in your hands or feet,
  • aggression,
  • very stiff (rigid) muscles,
  • high fever,
  • fast or uneven heartbeats,
  • depression,
  • tremor,
  • hallucinations,
  • extreme drowsiness,
  • falling asleep suddenly even after feeling alert,
  • behavior changes,
  • throughs of self-harm,
  • increased sexual urges, and
  • unusual urges to gamble, or other intense urges
The following drugs are related to Osmolex ER, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Kynmobi (apomorphine hydrochloride sublingual film)
  • Fluorodopa FDOPA (f18 injection)
  • Nourianz (istradefylline tablets)
