Lumizyme (alglucosidase alfa)

Lumizyme (alglucosidase alfa) for Injection is an enzyme used to treat a glycogen storage disorder called Pompe disease, (also called GAA deficiency) in adults and children who are at least 8 years old.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• itching,
• rash,
• fever,
• pale skin,
• lightheadedness,
• confusion,
• seizure,
• severe headache,
• pounding in your neck or ears,
• wheezing,
• fainting,
• nervousness,
• sweating,
• restlessness,
• slow heart rate,
• anxiety,
• trouble breathing,
• fast heart rate,
• puffy eyes,
• weak pulse,
• weight gain, and
• swelling of your ankles or feet,
• cold or clammy skin,
• slow breathing (breathing may stop),
• tight feeling in your chest or throat,
• blue lips or fingernails,
• cold hands or feet,
• warmth, redness, numbness, or tingly feeling under the skin,
• skin changes (sores, lesions, ulcers, discoloring),
• urine that looks foamy
