Ceredase (alglucerase injection)

Ceredase (alglucerase) Injection is a manmade form of the enzyme β-glucocerebrosidase used as an enzyme replacement in people with Type I Gaucher disease. Ceredase is not a cure for the condition. The brand name Ceredase is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • swelling,
  • chest discomfort,
  • pruritus,
  • flushing,  
  • abdominal cramping, and
  • low blood pressure
