Alfenta (alfentanil hydrochloride) Injection is an opioid analgesic used before and/or during surgery. Alfenta is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- loss of appetite,
- diarrhea,
- fever,
- skin rash,
- lightheadedness,
- confusion,
- tiredness,
- dizziness,
- blurred vision,
- headache,
- chest pain or discomfort,
- fainting,
- slow, fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat,
- slow, rapid, or shallow breathing,
- nervousness,
- breathing that stops,
- pale or blue lips, fingernails, or skin,
- pounding in the ears,
- sweating,
- weakness,
- cough,
- noisy breathing,
- rigid (very stiff) muscles,
- tightness in the chest,
- agitation,
- darkening of the skin,
- trouble swallowing,
- overactive reflexes,
- poor coordination,
- puffiness or swelling of the eyelids,
- restlessness,
- shivering,
- talking or acting with excitement,
- trembling or shaking,
- twitching, and
- vomiting
