Aggrastat (tirofiban hcl)
type of Glycoprotein IIb/IIIa Inhibitors
Aggrastat (tirofiban hydrochloride) is an antiplatelet drug that works by keeping platelets in the blood from coagulating (clotting) used to prevent blood clots or heart attack in people with severe chest pain or other conditions, and in those who are undergoing an angioplasty procedure (to open blocked arteries).
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- ,
- bloody or tarry stools,
- coughing up blood, and
- vomit that looks like coffee grounds
- easy bruising or bleeding (nosebleeds, bleeding gums),
- any bleeding that will not stop
- bleeding around your IV or catheter,
