Eylea (aflibercept)

type of Macular Degeneration Agents, Ophthalmics, VEGF Inhibitors

Eylea (aflibercept) is a recombinate protein indicated for the treatment of patients with Neovascular (Wet) Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). AMD is a common cause of blindness.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • chest pain,
  • confusion, and
  • sudden numbness or weakness (especially on one side of the body),
  • seeing halos around lights,
  • swelling around your eyes,
  • problems with speech or balance
  • sudden vision problems,
  • eye pain or redness,
  • increased sensitivity of your eyes to light,
  • seeing flashes of light or "floaters" in your vision,
  • sudden severe headaches,
