Adalat CC (nifedipine)

Adalat (nifedipine) is a calcium channel blocker drug that relaxes (widens) blood vessels (veins and arteries), which makes it easier for the heart to pump and reduces its workload and is used to lower high blood pressure (hypertension) and to treat chest pain (angina).

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • fever,
  • lightheadedness,
  • fluttering in your chest,
  • sore throat,
  • burning eyes,
  • skin pain,
  • red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling,
  • pounding heartbeats,
  • worsening chest pain,
  • swelling in your face or throat,
  • swelling in your hands or lower legs,
  • upper stomach pain, and
