Avaclyr (acyclovir ophthalmic ointment)

Avaclyr (acyclovir ophthalmic ointment) is a herpes simplex virus nucleoside analog DNA polymerase inhibitor indicated in the treatment of acute herpetic keratitis (dendritic ulcers) in patients with herpes simplex (HSV-1 and HSV-2) virus.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing, and
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat

  • Zovirax (acyclovir)
  • Zirgan (ganciclovir ophthalmic gel)
  • Viroptic (trifluridine)
  • Valcyte (valganciclovir hcl)
