Dysport (abobotulinumtoxin a injection)

type of Neuromuscular Blockers, Depolarizing, Botulinum Toxins

Dysport for Injection (abobotulinumtoxinA), also called botulinum toxin type A, is made from the bacteria that causes botulism and is used to treat cervical dystonia (severe spasms in the neck muscles). Dysport is also used to temporarily lessen the appearance of facial wrinkles.

The drug is often used to treat Dystonia .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • itching,
  • pain or burning when you urinate,
  • unusual or severe muscle weakness,
  • loss of bladder control,
  • hoarse voice,
  • drooping eyelids,
  • red or pink urine,
  • severe skin rash,
  • problems with vision,
  • trouble breathing, talking or swallowing,
  • crusting or drainage from your eyes,
  • fast, slow, or uneven heartbeats,
  • chest pain or heavy feeling,
  • pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, and
  • general ill feeling
