ReoPro (abciximab)
type of Glycoprotein IIb/IIIa Inhibitors, Antineoplastics CDK Inhibitors
ReoPro (abciximab) is a blood thinner used to prevent blood clots during procedures used to open up the blood vessels in the heart (e.g., balloon angioplasty, coronary stent placement, percutaneous coronary intervention-PCI). ReoPro is usually used with heparin and aspirin.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- chest pain,
- nausea,
- headache,
- vomiting,
- low blood pressure,
- slow heart rate,
- back pain,
- abdominal pain,
- stomach upset,
- heartburn,
- changes in vision,
- injection site reactions (bleeding, irritation, or pain),
- swelling of the extremities, or
- mood changes.
